Jammu, Nov 28: Showcasing remarkable talent, discipline and cultural brilliance, Delhi Public School Jammu clinched the Overall First Position at the highly esteemed Youth Convention & Prize Distribution Ceremony 2025 hosted by Ramakrishna Mission, Jammu.
The event was graced by Shri B. M. Sharma, IFS, Principal Secretary, Culture, as the Chief Guest, and presided over by Rev. Swami Yajnadharananda Maharaj, Secretary, Ramakrishna Mission, Jammu. Both dignitaries appreciated the spirit, discipline and cultural depth displayed by the young participants. Shri Sharma emphasised that value-based education, rootedness in culture and character-building must become central to youth development.
The event witnessed over 300 students from 27 leading schools of Jammu, along with teachers, parents, eminent judges and distinguished guests. The judging panels included respected personalities from the fields of art, culture, drama, academics, music and public service, adding richness and credibility to the event.
DPS Jammu students showcased outstanding performances in multiple categories—Skit & Drama, Painting, Elocution and Singing—demonstrating creativity, confidence and teamwork. Their disciplined participation and excellence helped the school emerge as the Overall Champion School of the Convention.

PAINTING – 1st prize - Akshar Basson (XII-H)
SOLO SONG - Angel Bhutiyal (XII-G) – 2nd prize, Adina Gill (VIII- C) – 3rd prize
ELOCUTION - Abhilasha Ralli (VII-B) – Consolation prize, Kashvi Arora (XI-H) – Consolation prize.
Appreciating the outstanding efforts of the students and teachers, Hon’ble Pro - Vice Chairperson, DPS Jammu, Kunwrani Dr. Ritu Singh, expressed her pride in the school’s continued excellence. She affirmed that DPS Jammu remains deeply committed to nurturing confident, compassionate, and value-driven learners who excel on every platform and uphold the school’s ethos wherever they go.
The Principal of DPS Jammu congratulated the participating students as well as the dedicated staff and mentors Ms. Vivek Nidhi, Ms. Shalini Pradhan, Mr. Jai Paul Gill, Ms. Shipra Pathania who trained, guided and encouraged the children throughout the preparation. She said that this achievement reflects the collective commitment of teachers who continuously strive to bring out the best in every child. |
