Amritsar, Nov 28: PCRay Chemical Society of Postgraduate Department of Chemistry, DAV College, Amritsar, in collaboration with the Research & Innovation Cell under aegis of IQAC, organized an expert talk on the topic Science - “The Catalyst of Change – Developing Scientific Temperament & Research Acumen”. Prof Jasleen started the event and the guest was accorded floral welcome as token of love & shawl, momento as a mark of remembrance by the principal & staff members of department. Prof Rajesh Mittu introduced audience with the aims and objectives of PC Ray Chemical Society.Dr. Ravi Sharma, Head department of Chemistry threw light on the goals and achievements of the department. Principal Dr Amardeep Gupta showers blessings on the audience with his kind words. The resource person for the event, Dr. Ashwani Sharma, Associate Professor, Department of Chemistry & Biology, IISER, Tirupati (Andhra Pradesh), shared his profound insights into the importance of cultivating a scientific mindset and nurturing curiosity-driven research among students. He emphasized that true progress in science stems from critical thinking, questioning, and continuous exploration rather than rote learning. Dr. Sharma inspired the students to become catalysts of change in society by applying scientific principles to real-world problems. He also discussed emerging areas of research in Chemistry and Biology, encouraging young minds to actively participate in interdisciplinary studies and innovation. Dr. Neeraj Gupta, convenor, Research & Innovation Cell, IQAC extended a vote of thanks. The session witnessed enthusiastic participation from faculty members and postgraduate students, who engaged in a lively interaction with the speaker.
