SRINAGAR, Nov 30: Weather across Jammu and Kashmir is expected to remain largely dry till December 5, with no major precipitation forecast for most parts of the region, the Meteorological Centre Srinagar said on Sunday. The MeT said that, generally, dry conditions will prevail till December 3. “December 4 and 5 are likely to remain mostly cloudy, particularly from the evening of December 4, with the possibility of a brief spell of light snowfall at isolated higher reaches.” The department said that from December 6 to December 10, the weather will remain partly to generally cloudy across the Union Territory. Cloudy conditions are also likely to continue on December 11 and 12. The MeT further said shallow to moderate fog is likely to persist at many places in the Kashmir division and at isolated locations in the Jammu division, particularly during the nighttime and early morning hours. Locals have been advised to exercise caution while travelling in areas prone to poor visibility. The weather office said cold and dry conditions are expected to continue till December 4, after which a slight improvement in minimum temperatures is likely. A rise of around 1 to 2 degrees Celsius in night temperatures is expected after December 4, it said. The MeT Centre said no major weather disturbance is expected during the forecast period and that overall conditions will remain stable across most parts of the Valley and Jammu region. |
