Early Times Report JAMMU, Nov 30: A 190-member strong contingent of the Jammu & Kashmir Bharat Scouts and Guides participated with great enthusiasm and distinction in the 19th National Jamboree held at Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, from 23rd to 30th November 2025. The National Jamboree, organized by the Bharat Scouts and Guides, brought together contingents from all over India and overseas countries to celebrate scouting spirit, adventure, and unity in diversity. The J&K contingent, under the dynamic leadership of S Gurdeep Singh IC, Ms. Manjeet Kour CL, Shri. Haroon Malik CL, K L Sharma Accounts Officer, Shri Rakesh Sharma, Shri Neeraj Kumar, Smt. Rita and other supporting Staff, Unit Leaders were guided by a dedicated team of leaders and volunteers who ensured active participation in every event. The contingent comprised Scouts, Guides, Rovers, Rangers, and adult leaders from various districts of the Jammu and Kashmir. During the week-long jamboree, participants engaged in a wide range of activities including adventure challenges, pioneering, community service, cultural presentations, and exhibitions highlighting local traditions, Camp craft, Scout/Guide Skills, Food plaza and innovations. The J&K contingent earned appreciation from organizers and participants alike for their discipline, creativity, and team spirit. A highlight of the event was the celebration of "J&K State Day" on 25th November 2025, where the contingent showcased the vibrant cultural heritage of Jammu and Kashmir through traditional dance performances, folk songs, and an impressive exhibition pavilion. The stall displayed the region's handicrafts, local art, and tourism potential, drawing wide appreciation from dignitaries and visitors. The Jamboree also featured various competitions and thematic activities focused on "Scouting for a Sustainable Future", aligning with National and Global goals of environmental stewardship and youth development. The State Chief Commissioner, Bharat Scouts and Guides J&K, Smt. Anuradha Gupta JKAS, and Mtr. Nasreen Khan (State Secretary cum Administrative Officer) congratulated the contingent for their outstanding participation and commended the leadership team for their dedicated efforts in preparing and guiding the Scouts and Guides throughout the event. They emphasized that such national-level gatherings provide a vital platform for young members to develop leadership qualities, discipline, and a sense of national pride. The contingent returned with cherished memories, valuable learning experiences, and renewed enthusiasm to continue their mission of "Be Prepared" and "Service to Humanity." |
