Early Times Report JAMMU, Nov 30: Arpita of Class 7th and Mannat Thapa of Class 9th brought laurels to Humanity Public School, Bassi Kalan, Bari Brahmana by securing commendable positions in the prestigious NHPC Painting Competition, marking a proud milestone for the institution. Their outstanding achievements were celebrated during a special morning assembly where the winners were felicitated by Principal Mr. Gaurav Charak, Vice Principal Mrs. Anku Charak, Admin Incharge Mr. Akashdeep Raina, and the In-charges of distinguished wings, amidst loud applause and appreciation. Their mentor, Mr. Vikas, Art and Craft Teacher, was also honoured with a trophy for his dedicated guidance and constant encouragement to the students. In Group A, under the theme, Save Energy, Arpita secured the 3rd Consolation Prize for her artistic excellence and her thoughtful representation of the need for energy conservation. Her artwork stood out for its clarity of message, creativity and visual appeal. She received a cash prize of Rs 7,500/-, along with an additional Rs 2,000/- participation reward, bringing her total prize amount to Rs 9,500/-. In Group B, Mannat Thapa demonstrated admirable talent and dedication, earning a Participation Certificate and a cash reward of Rs 2,000/- Her artwork received wide appreciation for its neatness, colour sense and thematic relevance. The school community celebrated the achievements of both students, noting that their success not only highlights individual talent but also reinforces the school's commitment to promoting creativity, confidence and holistic growth among learners. The competition provided a meaningful platform for students to express their thoughts on socially significant themes through the medium of art.
