JAMMU, Nov 30: St. Joseph's Convent High School, Nagrota, marked a memorable milestone as it celebrated 22 years of establishment with a grand and colourful cultural event attended by students, parents, staff, and the school management.
The celebrations unfolded with grace and enthusiasm, reflecting the institution's journey of excellence in education and holistic development.
The programme began with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp, symbolizing the dispelling of darkness and the ushering in of knowledge. This was followed by an uplifting prayer dance by the students, setting a serene tone for the evening.
The central theme for this year's celebration, "Incredible India," highlighted the nation's diversity and cultural richness. The students brought alive the essence of India-its landscapes, music, traditions, and achievements-through a vibrant blend of dances and a carefully crafted skit. The school also showcased the new Band troops which added more colour to the program.
From the majestic Himalayas to the deserts of Rajasthan, from soulful classical ragas to vibrant Bollywood rhythms, and from the ancient wisdom of yoga to modern space missions, the performances showcased why India is truly "Incredible." The young performers enthralled the audience, earning appreciation for their dedication and talent.
The event was graced by the presence of Rt. Rev. Ivan Albert Pereira, Bishop and President of the Diocese of Jammu-Srinagar Education Society, who served as the Chief Guest.
Distinguished guests including Fr. Shaiju Chacko, Chairman of the Diocesan Education Board, Capt. Shibu Devasia, Adv. Raman Wazir, School Manager Rev. Fr. Jose John, and Principal Rev. Sr. Vinaya were also present.
Addressing the gathering, Rt. Rev. Ivan Albert Pereira praised the exemplary performances and felicitated academic toppers with certificates and awards.
He emphasized the crucial role of parents in shaping their children's educational journey and highlighted the significant contributions of the Catholic Diocese of J&K in education and social welfare, particularly in remote regions of J&K and Ladakh. |
