 MANDI GOBINDGARH, Nov 30: Abhijit Panday of Desh Bhagat University (DBU), Mandi Gobindgarh, has brought laurels to the institution by winning the gold medal in the men's 94 kg weightlifting category at the Khelo India University Games held in Rajasthan. He lifted 129 kg in Snatch and 159 kg in Clean & Jerk, achieving a remarkable total of 288 kg. Abhijit is a proud student of the B.P.E.S. programme at DBU.
In another commendable achievement, Parveen, also a student of Desh Bhagat University, secured the silver medal in Men's Freestyle Wrestling (74 kg category) at the same event.
Dr. Zora Singh, Chancellor; Dr. Tajinder Kaur, Pro-Chancellor and Dr. Harsh Sadawarti, Vice Chancellor of DBU, congratulated Abhijit and Parveen on their remarkable accomplishments.
