NAGROTA, Dec 4: Emphasising that Sant Kabir's timeless philosophy continues to serve as a moral compass for society, MLA Nagrota Devyani Rana on Thursday said that his verses remain powerful tools to overcome hatred, animosity and social discord.
Speaking at a programme organised at Kabir Ashram, Narian in Katal Batal Panchayat, Rana described Sant Kabir Ji as an epitome of righteousness whose teachings of peace, love and compassion offer a universal path toward harmony.
Those who imbibe Kabir Sahib's teachings can never commit injustice. His message inspires the creation of an equal, just and humane society," she said.
Sant Sudershan Ji Maharaj also graced the occasion.
Rana said that the most meaningful way to honour the great Bhakti saint is to commit oneself to the values he championed-unity, dignity, and equality for all, irrespective of caste, creed or colour. "Kabirji showed us a path where humanity stands above all divisions. His teachings must continue to illuminate our collective journey, especially in times when harmony needs strengthening," she added.
She noted that saints and sages have, across ages, steered society from ignorance to enlightenment through messages of peace, compassion and social justice. Calling for the adoption of Sant Kabir's teachings in letter and spirit, she cautioned that the secular ethos of the region must be safeguarded with collective responsibility.
Rana appreciated the organisers for holding a meaningful event in honour of Sant Kabir and especially lauded Sant Sudershan Ji Maharaj for his selfless work towards strengthening social harmony.
"Kabirji's philosophy helps society shed hatred and intolerance. It will continue to inspire future generations. Preserving this spirit of brotherhood is the true tribute to the saint," she said.
In his discourse, Sant Sudershan Ji Maharaj highlighted the life and immense contribution of Sant Kabir towards fostering social unity. He urged people to walk on the path shown by great gurus and contribute to building a society rooted in shared values. He also stressed the importance of imparting strong moral foundations to the younger generation to counter emerging social evils.
