Early Times Report TANGDHAR, Dec 6: Apni Party, Zone Karnah, convened a core group meeting on Saturday at the Dak Bungalow Meeting Hall, Tangdhar, under the chairmanship of Adv. Raja Manzoor, Ex-MLA Karnah and District President Apni Party Kupwara. The meeting was coordinated by Zonal President Javid Ahmad Lone and attended by all core members along with several prominent community representatives. Senior citizens and retired officials present at the meeting included Retired SI Mohd Yaseen, Syed Mehboob Shah, Retired BDO Nazam Din, Retired Teacher Ghar Haydar, Retired Army personnel Moula Baksh, Retired Army official Abdul Kareem, Retired Army officer Shabir Ahmad Chuck, and Ex-Sarpanch A.D. Hameed. The meeting expressed concern over the underrepresentation of candidates from the unreserved category in non-gazetted government posts. Members pointed out that only 10-14% of such recruitments are being made in the Kashmir Division, while the majority of these posts continue to be filled in the Jammu Division. This was described as disproportionate, considering the population spread in districts such as Kupwara, Anantnag, Rajouri and Poonch. Participants called for a fair, transparent and regionally balanced recruitment policy to ensure equitable opportunities for all. Speakers also highlighted the rising unemployment and delayed recruitments, criticizing previous governments, particularly the Current National Conference, for failing to deliver on employment and development-related commitments. They stated that prolonged vacancies, slow recruitment processes and age-related restrictions have resulted in frustration and uncertainty among educated youth. The meeting recorded a positive response to the ongoing membership drive, with several new members joining the Apni Party. This, officials said, reflects growing public engagement and confidence in the party's approach. |
