Connectivity, coordination ensured historic success: Defence Minister
Operation Sindoor
12/7/2025 10:45:49 PM

Early Times Report

Jammu, Dec 7: Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Sunday dedicated to the nation 125 border infrastructure projects - the most in one go - from Ladakh
While unveiling these developmental projects from Ladakh, the Defence Minister used the occasion to deliver a powerful message on India’s growing military readiness and border infrastructure.
Singh drew a direct connection between enhanced connectivity in Ladakh and the remarkable success of Operation Sindoor, launched in retaliation to the brutal terrorist attack in Pahalgam earlier this year.
Addressing a large gathering, the Defence Minister praised the precision and professionalism with which the armed forces executed the operation.
“Just a few months ago, we witnessed our armed forces carry out Operation Sindoor in response to the horrific terrorist attack in Pahalgam. The world knows what fate befell the terrorists,” he said, asserting that India’s response was firm, swift, and effective.
Singh said the forces showed exemplary restraint even when they had the capability to inflict greater damage.
“While we could have done much more, our forces demonstrated both courage and patience, doing only what was necessary,” he added, describing the conduct of the operation as a model of discipline and precision.
Highlighting the impact of ongoing developmental work in Ladakh and border areas, Rajnath Singh said that India’s improved connectivity was central to the success of the military operation.
“Such a massive operation was possible because of our strong connectivity. Logistics were delivered to our armed forces in a timely manner. Our connectivity with border areas was also maintained, which made Operation Sindoor a historic success,” he noted.
He emphasised that the newly inaugurated projects are part of a long-term national vision to fortify border infrastructure, improve troop mobility, and strengthen the living conditions of residents in remote regions.
Rajnath Singh also underscored the remarkable synergy between military personnel, civil administration, and local residents during Operation Sindoor.
“During Operation Sindoor, the coordination between our armed forces and civil administration, along with the citizens of border areas, was incredible,” he stated.
He expressed heartfelt gratitude to the people of Ladakh for standing firmly behind the armed forces.
“I express my gratitude to every citizen of Ladakh and the border areas for supporting our armed forces. This coordination, this mutualism, is our identity. Our mutual connection is what makes us unique in the world.”
The Defence Minister said the newly launched projects will significantly enhance Ladakh’s strategic capabilities while ushering in a new era of development for the region. From improved road networks to infrastructure that strengthens military operations, these initiatives aim to reinforce India’s preparedness on the northern frontier.
As India continues to modernise its military infrastructure, Rajnath Singh’s message from Leh underscored a broader national narrative: strong borders, strong connectivity, and strong unity are the pillars of a secure and resilient nation.
