JU organises Induction program for BEd students

JAMMU, Dec 8: The Centre for Distance and Online Education (CDOE), University of Jammu, organised the Induction Programme for B.Ed students on December 8, 2025, as part of the ongoing Golden Jubilee Celebrations of CDOE.
The programme commenced with registration, followed by the lighting of the ceremonial lamp and the recitation of Saraswati Vandana.
Prof. Md. Zubair Kales, Dean, Faculty of Education, Cluster University of Jammu, was the chief guest. While addressing the audiance he highlighted the rapidly evolving landscape of education and technology, explaining how these changes are shaping innovative learning experiences for future educators. In addition, he offered valuable moral guidance, urging students to uphold integrity, responsibility, and empathy. Prof. Kales also congratulated CDOE on its affiliation with DEB and NCET, recognizing it as a significant milestone that will further enhance the quality and impact of teacher education in the region.
A special "Miracle of Mind" meditation session was conducted by the Guest of Honour Dr. Siya Malhotra. Inspired by Sadhguru, the spiritual leader, she guided students in simple meditation techniques to enhance mindfulness, focus, and emotional balance. She encouraged them to cultivate self-discipline and mental clarity.
Dr. Sumita Sharma, Joint Registrar, CDOE, shared her remarks, highlighting the significant role teachers play in shaping students' lives during their school days and encouraged the new B.Ed students to value the impact they can have in future.
Earlier, Prof. Pankaj K. Srivastava, Director, CDOE, delivered the welcome address. He also extended a warm welcome to the newly admitted B.Ed. students and highlighted the Centre's five-decade-long journey of excellence, assuring them of a supportive and student-friendly learning environment. Several distinguished members were felicitated with prizes during the event. This was followed by the vote of thanks delivered by Dr. Pooja Sharma, Assistant Professor, Department of Education, who expressed gratitude to all dignitaries, including Prof. Sandeep Tandon, Dr. Hina Abrol, Dr. Neelam Choudhary, Dr. Rajbeer Singh Sodhi, Dr. P. P. Singh, faculty members, students, and organizers. The formal proceedings of the induction programme were conducted by Dr. Jaspal Singh, Associate Professor, Department of Education, and Coordinator, B.Ed. Programme, CDOE.
The event concluded with the distribution of refreshments, marking a pleasant and encouraging start to the academic journey of the new B.Ed batch. The event was conducted by Jasdeep Kour and Khushi of B.Ed.Programme.
