Early Times Report
AMRITSAR, Dec 9: The PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PHDCCI) organized the 19th edition of the Punjab International Trade Expo (PITEX) from 04-08 December 2025 at Ranjit Avenue, Amritsar. As one of Punjab's premier trade platforms, PITEX offers emerging startups an excellent opportunity for product exposure, brand visibility, and meaningful engagement with customers and business partners. With its strong focus on both B2B and B2C interactions, the expo plays a vital role in helping young ventures establish new business networks and collaborations. The Golden Jubilee Centre for Entrepreneurship and Innovation (GJCEI) at Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar-established to foster innovation, promote entrepreneurship, and enhance youth skill development-currently mentors 40 incubated startups and 10 pre-incubated startups across various thrust areas. To further strengthen the entrepreneurial capabilities of its startups, GJCEI, in collaboration with Startup Punjab, actively participated in the 5-day PITEX 2025 event. At a time when unemployment has emerged as a major challenge, the Vice-Chancellor of the University, Prof. (Dr.) Karamjeet Singh, through his far-sighted vision, has created an innovative and research-driven ecosystem that transforms students from job-seekers into job-creators. Under his leadership, the Golden Jubilee Centre is presently mentoring 40 incubated and 10 pre-incubated start-ups. It is a testament to Prof. Karamjeet Singh's visionary approach that our students today are developing pioneering products across diverse sectors such as agriculture, textiles, health and wellness.
During the expo, GJCEI-affiliated startups showcased their products, gaining exposure to potential buyers, investors, and corporate partners. Startups from diverse sectors such as Agriculture, Textiles, Health & Wellness, and others presented their innovations with enthusiasm. Participants included Dr. Divjot Kaur (Divine Flames), Mr. Varun Khanna (The Amritsar Store), Ms. Smiley Chaudhary (The White Space/The Art Atelier), Mr. Kailash Gautam (Ankur Wellness), Mr. Harmandeep Singh (The Singh Agro), and Mr. Armaan Mahato (Moraco), who effectively displayed their unique and innovative offerings.
