Early Times Report JAMMU, Dec 12: Continuing its firm crackdown against illegal activities, Jammu Police, South Zone achieved another success after Police Post Bathindi effectively intercepted an illegal transportation of bovine animals in the Barmini area. During routine patrolling and naka checking, the alert police team signaled a load carrier bearing registration number JK02DG-1474 to stop. On noticing the police presence, the driver fled from the spot, abandoning the vehicle. Upon thorough checking, four bovine animals were found loaded in the carrier, tied mercilessly with ropes. On this, FIR No. 342/2025 under Sections 299/223 of BNS and Section 11 of the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act was registered at Police Station Bahu Fort, and further investigation has been initiated. Jammu Police reiterates its commitment to maintaining law and order, protecting animals and ensuring that illegal transportation is strictly curbed. |
