| Panchayat Degwar residents hail Ajaz Jan for providing Rs 25 lakh for development works | | |

Jammu, Dec 14: A large number of residents of Panchayat Degwar, Poonch, today expressed their sincere gratitude to Hon’ble MLA Poonch, Ajaz Jan, for providing ₹25 lakh for the development of the Shamshan Ghat, the last rites place of the Hindu and Sikh communities of the area.
The development work was formally kick-started in the presence of prominent local representatives and senior citizens of the panchayat.
The locals stated that for many years they had been facing serious difficulties, particularly during the rainy season and harsh winters, due to the poor condition and lack of proper facilities at the Shamshan Ghat.
The release of funds has brought much-needed relief and dignity to the families performing last rites.
Prominent among those present on the occasion were Ex-Sarpanch Bhainder Singh, the Panchayat Pradhan, and other respected senior members of Panchayat Degwar, who jointly appreciated the timely intervention and people-centric approach of the Hon’ble MLA.
The residents said that this initiative reflects Ajaz Jan’s commitment to communal harmony and inclusive development, ensuring essential infrastructure for all communities without discrimination. They expressed hope that such welfare-oriented initiatives would continue, bringing lasting improvement and dignity to public facilities in Panchayat Degwar and other border areas of Poonch.
