| Nitin Nabin becomes BJP’s youngest national working president? | | | Sanjay Pandita Early Times Report
Jammu, Dec 14: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Sunday appointed Bihar Cabinet Minister Nitin Nabin as its National Working President, a move approved by the party’s Parliamentary Board. At 45, Nabin is among the youngest leaders to assume the key organisational role and is widely seen as a potential successor to incumbent BJP president J P Nadda. Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated Nabin on his elevation, describing him as a “hardworking Karyakarta” with strong organisational credentials and a proven record in governance. “He is a young and industrious leader with rich organisational experience and an impressive record as both MLA and Minister in Bihar over multiple terms. He has diligently worked to fulfil people’s aspirations. Known for his humble nature and grounded style of working, I am confident that his energy and dedication will strengthen our party in the times to come,” the Prime Minister said in a post on X. Nitin Nabin, who hails from the Kayastha community, brings with him a blend of organisational depth and administrative experience. Party leaders said his appointment reflects the BJP’s emphasis on grooming younger leaders with grassroots exposure and governance expertise. A five-time MLA from the Bankipur constituency in Patna, Nabin currently serves as the Public Works Department (PWD) Minister in the Bihar government. He has held ministerial responsibilities on multiple occasions and is regarded as a seasoned administrator. Beyond governance, Nabin has played an active role in strengthening the party organisation. He has worked extensively with the BJP’s Yuva Morcha and has also served as a state in-charge (prabhari), giving him firsthand experience in organisational management across regions. Party insiders said Nabin’s elevation signals a generational shift within the BJP’s leadership structure, combining youth with experience, and is expected to inject fresh energy into the party’s organisational functioning at the national level. |
