early times report

Jammu, Dec 14, 2025: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) District Jammu South, Media Secretary Rohiin Chandan has underscored the indispensable role of the "Media" in transforming India and propelling the nation towards the ambitious goal of a 'Viksit Bharat' (Developed India) by 2047. In a strong affirmation of the media's contributions, Chandan highlighted its proactive engagement in fostering positive change and building public awareness.
Issuing a press note, Chandan stated that the media is far from being a mute spectator. Instead, it serves as a dynamic force in shaping national discourse, influencing public opinion, and driving societal progress. "The media plays a major role in creating awareness among citizens about critical issues, government policies, and developmental initiatives," he emphasized. This active participation, he added, is essential for empowering the masses and encouraging informed participation in nation-building.
Chandan particularly lauded the media's efforts in amplifying flagship government programs, turning them into widespread national movements.
He specifically praised the coverage and promotion of initiatives such as Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, Atmanirbhar Bharat, and Startup India. "Through extensive reporting, campaigns, and public engagement, the media has successfully transformed these programs into people's movements, inspiring millions to contribute towards cleanliness, self-reliance, and entrepreneurial innovation," Chandan noted. Swachh Bharat has revolutionized sanitation and hygiene across the country, and Atmanirbhar Bharat has boosted indigenous manufacturing and economic independence, while Startup India has unleashed a wave of youth-led innovation and job creation.
Furthermore, Chandan described the media as the backbone of any organization that seeks direct connection with the common masses. In today's digital era, characterized by rapid information flow and social media dominance, the media consistently delivers exemplary results by bridging the gap between policymakers and the public. "The media's ability to connect instantly with the grassroots level ensures that government schemes reach the last mile, fostering inclusivity and accountability," he said. This direct linkage, according to Chandan, has been instrumental in the success of various welfare and development drives under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Chandan also called upon media professionals to continue their constructive role in countering misinformation, promoting unity, and highlighting India's achievements on the global stage. He reiterated the BJP's commitment to collaborating with the media for a transparent and progressive narrative that aligns with the vision of Viksit Bharat—a developed, self-reliant, and inclusive India.
As India marches towards becoming a global powerhouse, the synergy between the government and the media remains crucial. Chandan's remarks reflect the party's appreciation for the fourth pillar of democracy and its unwavering support for ethical, impactful journalism that serves the nation's higher interests.
