Early Times Report
UDHAMPUR, Dec 17: To strengthen the grievance redressal mechanism at the grassroots level, Deputy Commissioner Udhampur Saloni Rai today conducted a public outreach cum grievance redressal camp at Panchayat Sira-A - a far-flung area in Block Latti-Marothi.
En-route, the Deputy Commissioner inaugurated a honey processing unit of Sudhmahadev Honey Producer Cooperative Ltd at village Chourt, established under the Holistic Agriculture Development Programme. The scheme offers 50 per cent subsidy to promote local entrepreneurship and enhancing farmers' income.
At the Camp, local residents and former PRI members from the adjoining Panchayats highlighted a range of demands including construction of a Community Marriage Hall, motorable road to the Health and Awareness Centre at Sira, footbridge at Ward No. 3, establishment of a Patwar Khana at the Panchayat level and creation of a Medical Block at Latti.
Other key demands included establishment of an ITI at Latti, availability of adequate staff, introduction of Commerce faculty at Higher Secondary School Latti, posting of a Veterinary Doctor at Latti, upgradation of PHC Latti to CHC, construction of a playground, introduction of SRTC bus services from Dudu to Jammu and Ramnagar to Udhampur, establishment of an SBI branch, maintenance of various roads, installation of electricity poles for newly constructed PMAY houses, and upgradation of High School Sira to Higher Secondary level.
After patiently hearing the issues and demands, the Deputy Commissioner assured early redressal of all genuine grievances of the public. She also directed officers of line departments to organize awareness camps in the area to educate and encourage people to avail the benefits of government schemes.
The Deputy Commissioner emphasized that the core aim of the public outreach is to bring the administration closer to the rural population and ensure inclusive development.
