| Kisan Mela organised at Lander -Panchari | | |  Early Times Report
UDHAMPUR, Dec 17: A one day Kisan Mela was organised today at Panchayat Lander in block Panchari to promote agriculture schemes being implemented under Holistic Agriculture Development Programme. About 300 local farmers and those from adjoining Panchayats participated in the Kisan mela.
Member Legislative Assembly Udhampur West, Pawan Kumar Gupta- the Chief Guest inaugurated the event organised by the Department of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Department.
Chief Agriculture Officer, Harbans Singh, District Agriculture Officer Extension, Sudhir Singh Manhas and functionaries from allied departments showcased schemes and intervention activities by laying stalls at the venue. The MLA urged the farmers to avail benefit of the schemes designed to promote farm based enterprises to push economic growth in rural areas.
The Chief Agriculture Officer encouraged the farmers to adopt organic and zero budget natural farming. The District Agriculture Officer Extension informed the farmers about the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana being implemented in the District.
The Apiculture Development Officer and Mushroom Development Officer guided the farmers about the schemes being implemented in their respective sectors. Assistant Soil Chemist explained the use of right and recommended doses of fertilizers after analysis of soil samples. |
