Sunder Bani, Dec 21: As part of the nationwide National Immunization Day, the Pulse Polio campaign commenced today, here in Booth No 53, Nahoti, wherein children between age group of 0-5 years were administered the vital "two drops of life." At Booth No. 53, located at the Government Middle School in Nahoti village (Ward No. 8), health teams began operations promptly at 8:30 AM, continuing until 5:30 PM. Medical and social welfare teams worked diligently throughout the day. From the social welfare side, Sunita Devi and Pooja Devi were actively involved, while the medical team included Usha Devi and Jialal Sharma under the supervision of senior supervisor Surinder Kumar Sharma conducted on-site visits to oversee the proper administration of the oral polio vaccine (OPV) drops. Under the guidance of the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) of Rajouri, teams received specialized training in the days leading up to the event to ensure accurate and safe delivery of the vaccine to children aged 0-5 years. The campaign will extend over the next 2-3 days with house-to-house visits across villages, wards, and panchayats. Mobile teams will reach homes where young children may have missed the booth day due to any reason, ensuring comprehensive coverage. Local residents and social workers expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and the dedicated medical teams for sustaining this critical public health initiative year after year. |
