Jammu, Dec 21: Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat has expressed serious concern over the situation of Hindus in Bangladesh, stating that the minority community there is facing difficult circumstances and must remain united to ensure its protection. Addressing the issue, Bhagwat said that while the challenges confronting Hindus in Bangladesh are significant, unity within the community remains crucial. He stressed that Hindus across the world should extend support to their counterparts in Bangladesh within their capacity. “They are a minority there, and the situation is quite difficult. Even in such circumstances, for maximum protection, Hindus will have to stay united. Hindus all over the world must help them. We must do whatever we can, within our limits, and we are doing it,” he said. The RSS Chief also underlined India’s unique position for Hindus globally, asserting While the challenges confronting Hindus in Bangladesh are significant, unity within the community remains crucial. He said the Indian government must take cognisance of the situation in Bangladesh and respond appropriately. “The only country for Hindus is India. The Indian government will have to take note of this. They may already be doing something—some actions are disclosed, others cannot be. Sometimes there are results, sometimes there are not. But something has to be done,” Bhagwat remarked. On the question of political change, particularly in the context of West Bengal, Bhagwat clarified that the RSS does not engage in political processes. He said the organisation’s focus remains on social transformation rather than political outcomes. “If Hindu society stands united, it will not take long to change the situation in Bengal. However, thinking about political change is not my job. We are working for social change through the Sangh,” he added. |
