Reasi, Dec 25: Indian Army Junior Commissioned Officer (JCO) Subedar Surjeet Singh, a resident of Bhaga Sirla village in Reasi district, was on Thursday cremated with full military honours amid emotional scenes.
Reports reaching that Subedar Surjeet Singh sustained a gunshot injury under suspicious circumstances while part of an operation in the Bari Brahmana area of Samba.
He was immediately rushed to a hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries, laying down his life in the service of the nation.
Senior Army officials, local administration, and residents paid rich tributes to the martyr, saluting his supreme sacrifice.
The martyr is survived by his 13-year-old son and his four-year-old daughter. |
