Early Times Report KISHTWAR, Dec 30: The District Employment and Counselling Centre Kishtwar today organised a Mega Women's Entrepreneurship and Self-Help Groups (SHGs) Mela under Mission YUVA here in the Conference Hall DC Office. Deputy Commissioner, Pankaj Kumar Sharma attended the event as the chief guest and inaugurated the mela by lighting the ceremonial lamp. Around 500 women entrepreneurs, SHG members and aspirants hailing from different parts of the district took part in the event. Officers from different departments provided direct guidance to the women participants regarding government schemes, financial assistance, skill training and market linkage support. Women entrepreneurs and SHG members displayed a wide range of products, including handicrafts, embroidery work, handloom items, tailoring products, processed food items and other micro-enterprise outputs. The stalls reflected the creativity, skill and entrepreneurial potential of women in district Kishtwar. As a mark of recognition and encouragement, top-performing women entrepreneurs were felicitated with trophies. The gesture motivated the participants and acknowledged their hard work, innovation and contribution towards economic self-reliance. The felicitation ceremony also inspired other women and SHG members to pursue entrepreneurship as a sustainable livelihood option. The mela proved to be a significant step towards women empowerment in the District, strengthening awareness about entrepreneurship opportunities for women. The overall event was held under the guidance of AD Employment Mamta Sudershan and attended by ADC Pawan Kotwal; AD Handicrafts, Pardeep Shan besides other officers and concerned staff. |
