Early Times Report JAMMU, Dec 30: The National Health Mission (NHM) successfully concluded the Training of Trainers (ToT) under the School Health and Wellness Programme, conducted under the guidance and directions of the Mission Director, NHM, Chowdhary Baseer ul Haq (IAS). The programme saw enthusiastic participation of over 50 participants from all ten districts of the Jammu Division, representing the School Education Department. The event featured awareness stalls curated by school students, highlighting key themes including Mental Health and Wellbeing, Hygiene Practices, Digital Detox, Healthy Lifestyle Choices, and related areas, fostering awareness through interactive and student-led initiatives. Expert resource persons from IITs, IIMs, IT professionals, and master trainers from New Delhi and GDC Kathua facilitated interactive sessions, providing a comprehensive overview of the Health and Wellness Ambassador Initiative. The sessions emphasized healthy diet and nutrition, mental wellbeing, life skills education, and responsible digital usage, with the objective of strengthening capacity building at the school level. In parallel, NHM organized a two-day training programme under the National Tobacco Control Programme (NTCP) for Medical Officers and Health Care Workers. The training aimed to enhance competencies in tobacco control and cessation services. |
