Early Times Report JAMMU, Dec 30: A public meeting was held by Farooq Qaiser, SSP Traffic Rural, Jammu with representatives of different transport unions and civil society members of Samba area to strengthen public relations and to gain public participation for better traffic management. The SSP was accompanied by Sukhdev Singh, DySP Traffic, Samba-Kathua besides DTIs Samba, Vijaypur and Bari Brahmana. Notable among those who attended and spoke on the occasion includes Amandeep Singh, Chairman Truck Association Samba, Vinod Singh Vinny, President Truck Association Samba, Ravinder Singh Babu, President All India Akhil Transport, Varinder Singh, chairman, KIMT, Manjeet Singh, Chairman Truck Association Bari Brahmana and Rajinder Singh, President Matador Union, Samba. The SSP interacted with the participants and called for their active involvement for better traffic management in the town. The participants brought many issues to the knowledge of the officer which include lack of parking, slots in Samba, unavailability of matador stands, heavy challning of vehicles, congestion of town etc. The SSP assured the audience that the issued within his competence shall be taken care of and those pertaining to other agencies shall be brought to their notice. The participants thanked the SSP for his interactive session and expressed hope that such interacts shall be held regularly. SSP Traffic Rural Jammu has reiterated that there is zero tolerance for any violation of the Motor Vehicles Act or traffic safety norms and people were appealed to follow traffic rules strictly to promote road safety and avert road accidents. |
