Jammu, Jan 9: A Joint Disaster Management exercise was successfully conducted, on 09 Jan 26, at Tac Hq 84 Bn CRPF Boom Chanderkote Ramban with the objective of augmenting preparedness, coordination and response capabilities during disaster situations. The exercise was attended by Sh Arvind Kumar Dixit officiating Commandant 84 Bn, Sh Roop Ram Meena Asstt Cdt, Sh Shree Ram Meena Asstt Cdt, personnel of 84 Bn CRPF, SDRF team and Media personnel. During the exercise, simulated situations, based on flood, earthquake, fire emergency, evacuation procedures, search and rescue operations, first aid, medical response, and relief management, etc, was carried out. While speaking to the media, officiating Commandant 84 Bn stated that Ramban is a natural calamity prone area. In the recent past, flashflood created havoc in the region. Rescue teams of 84 Bn CRPF, Army, Police and SDRF rushed to Rajgarh after a devastating landslide. For better preparedness, it is important to carry out such joint exercises regularly, so that our response to disaster can be better coordinated and save more lives.
