Orders issued by ex-CEO Kathua put on hold

Jammu, Jan 9: Amid allegations that the recently retired Chief Education Officer (CEO) Kathua carried out large-scale transfers and modifications during the final days of his service, the Director of School Education (DSE), Jammu, has ordered that all directives issued by the officer in December be kept in abeyance. In addition, the Director has summoned the District Education Planning Officer (DEPO) Kathua to his office along with all relevant records and the concerned dealing assistant for scrutiny.
Highly placed sources said that the former CEO, who superannuated on December 31, allegedly issued a series of transfer and modification orders during the last month of his tenure without informing higher authorities. After receiving reports about these large-scale changes, the Director of School Education, Jammu, intervened an

directed that all orders issued by the ex-CEO during December 2025 be suspended until further notice.
Sources further revealed that several transfers of teachers had taken place in Kathua district over the past few months, followed by a substantial number of modifications in December, just before the officer’s retirement.
“It has come to the notice that certain orders were issued by the ex–Chief Education Officer Kathua, which require immediate scrutiny due to serious administrative and procedural irregularities,” the order stated.
“Now, therefore, in the interest of administrative transparency and orderly functioning of institutions, it is hereby ordered that all orders issued by the ex–Chief Education Officer Kathua during the month of December 2025 shall remain in abeyance with immediate effect till further orders,” the directive added.
