Jammu, Jan 13: Officials said the action reflects Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha’s sustained push to uproot the terror ecosystem and its infrastructure within government institutions. Since 2021, more than 85 employees have been dismissed for terror links as part of a broader strategy to cleanse the system of sleeper operatives planted over decades. Security sources said these individuals were strategically embedded within government departments by terror outfits and Pakistan’s ISI to weaken institutions from within and compromise national security. “They were time bombs waiting to be activated,” a senior security official said. Sources added that LG Sinha launched a major offensive in 2021 to break the backbone of terror networks, targeting financiers, recruiters, OGWs, and facilitators alike. “The sustained and non-kinetic measures against terror enablers have significantly dismantled the supporting infrastructure of terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir,” the sources said. Officials said the administration remains committed to a zero-tolerance policy against terrorism, combining strict action against terror sympathisers with rehabilitation and employment support for genuine victims of militancy—an approach they say reflects both firmness and fairness in governance. |
