GDC, Vijaypur inaugurates second phase of 150 years of Vande Mataram celebrations

VIJAYPUR, Jan 19: NSS Unit (KHIDMAT) of Government Degree College, Vijaypur inaugurated the second phase of the celebration commemorating 150 years of the national song Vande Mataram with solemnity and patriotic spirit. The programme was formally inaugurated by the Principal of the college Dr. Ashu VAshisht, who lighted the ceremonial lamp, marking the auspicious beginning of the event.
The inaugural ceremony was followed by a mass singing of Vande Mataram by students, faculty members, and staff, filling the campus with a sense of national pride and unity. The collective rendition reflected the deep reverence for the historic song and its enduring significance in India's freedom movement.
The celebration aims to create awareness among students about the cultural and historical importance of Vande Mataram and to foster a spirit of patriotism and national integration.
The event was carried out with full support of the senior faculty members namely Dr. Anoop Kumar Bhagat, (HOD Sociology), Prof. Ritu Bhagat (HOD Education), Dr. Arti Sharma (HOD Environmental Science) and Dr. Manoj Heer (HOD Dogri). The event was coordinated by Dr. Naseem Chowdhary (NSS PO) and Prof. Meetu Sharma (HOD Geography). The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from the college community, making the inauguration of the second phase a memorable and inspiring occasion.
