Amritsar, Jan 22: The NSS Department of the College observed National Youth Day with great enthusiasm and zeal to commemorate the birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda, the symbol of youth power and inspiration. On this occasion, a Poster Making Competition was organised to inculcate the values of leadership, patriotism, self-discipline and nation-building among the youth. The college principal Dr Amardeep Gupta informed that a large number of NSS volunteers and students participated actively and showcased their creativity through posters based on themes related to youth empowerment, social responsibility and the vision of Swami Vivekananda. The competition provided a platform for students to express their ideas and awareness about the role of youth in shaping a strong and progressive nation. The programme concluded with appreciation of the participants for their innovative efforts and a message highlighting the importance of youth in nation building, in line with Swami Vivekananda’s ideals. The first three winners Kashish, BSc Computer Science, Diksha PG DCA and Venuka, BSC IT were awarded with the prizes. The Vice Principal Prof. Celly appreciated the efforts of the NSS Department in organising meaningful activities on this day. He emphasised that the youth are the backbone of the nation and must channel their energy towards positive action and social responsibility. Highlighting the teachings of Swami Vivekananda, he encouraged the students to develop self-confidence, discipline and a spirit of service to society. He further stated that such creative competitions help in nurturing awareness, leadership qualities and a sense of national pride among the students.
