DC reviews and approves orphan care cases under Mission Vatsalya

POONCH, Jan 22: A meeting regarding Sponsorship cum Foster Care approval was held today at the DC Office, Poonch, under the chairmanship of the Deputy Commissioner Poonch, Ashok Kumar Sharma, in accordance with the guidelines of Mission Vatsalya. During the meeting, 109 cases of orphan children were placed before the committee. Each case was taken up for detailed discussion, scrutiny, and deliberation. After thorough examination, the cases were approved by the Chair.
The District Child Protection Officer, Shri Khalil A Banday, presented a comprehensive briefing on the cases, highlighting the background, eligibility, and need based assessment of the beneficiaries under the scheme.
The meeting was attended by the Chairman, Child Welfare Committee, PO NIC, and other concerned officers and stakeholders, who actively participated in the deliberations and offered valuable inputs.
The Deputy Commissioner emphasized the significance of ensuring timely care, protection, and financial support to orphan and vulnerable children and reiterated the district administration's commitment towards effective implementation of child welfare schemes.
The meeting concluded with directions for expeditious processing and implementation of the approved cases to ensure that the intended benefits reach the deserving children at the earliest.
