Dogra Degree College hosts Grand Alumni Meet 2026

JAMMU, Jan 31: Dogra Degree College (Autonomous), Bari Brahmana, successfully organized its much-anticipated Alumni Meet 2026 on 31st January 2026 at the College Auditorium. The event brought together alumni from various batches to reconnect with their alma mater, reflect on shared memories, and strengthen the enduring bond between the institution and its former students.
The programme commenced with the Introduction and Opening Remarks by Ms. Aditi Khajuria, IQAC Coordinator, who warmly welcomed the alumni and emphasized the significance of lifelong association with one's institution. The ceremonial Lighting of the Lamp marked the beginning of the event, symbolizing knowledge, wisdom, and enlightenment.
Balwant Singh, Programme In-Charge (BA), delivered the Welcome Address, expressing gratitude to the alumni for their continued connection and remarkable achievements across diverse professional domains. The Key Address was delivered by Dr. Bela Thakur, Director DGC & Principal, Dogra Degree College, who highlighted the crucial role of alumni in mentoring students, strengthening academic networks, and contributing to institutional growth.
The event was graced by the esteemed presence of Dr. Samar Dev Singh Charak, Secretary, Dogra Educational Trust; R. S. Katal, Member, Governing Body and Advisory Committee, DDC; Dean Dr. Dharmveer Sharma and Geetika Sehgal, Coordinator, DET. Their presence added prestige to the occasion and reflected the strong leadership support for alumni engagement initiatives.
The cultural segment began with a devotional Ganesh Vandana, performed by students of BA 3rd Semester, followed by a vibrant Group Dance Performance, which infused energy and enthusiasm into the gathering.
Interactive alumni sessions were conducted for the 2018 & 2019 pass-out batches, followed by interactions with alumni from the 2020 & 2021 batches. During these sessions, alumni shared their professional journeys, experiences, and insights, inspiring current students and reinforcing a strong sense of belonging to the institution.
A special highlight of the programme was the release of the College Magazine (Volume 06), showcasing the academic, literary, and creative achievements of students and faculty, and the Memento Distribution Ceremony, recognizing alumni participation and contribution. This was followed by the "Memory Lane" slideshow, which nostalgically revisited cherished moments and milestones from previous years.
