Early Times Report JAMMU, Jan 31: The State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT) J&K, Divisional Office Jammu, through its Department of Teacher Education (DTE), successfully organised a five-day Workshop on "Development of Teacher Resources for Classroom Transaction of Learning Outcomes at Middle Level (Science)", under the visionary leadership of Dr. Naseem Javaid Chowdhary, (JKAS), Director School Education Jammu and Director SCERT J&K, and under the able guidance of Prof. (Dr.) Sindhu Kapoor, Joint Director, SCERT- J&K, Divisional Office Jammu. The workshop aimed to strengthen teachers' understanding of learning outcomes, promote outcome-based classroom practices, and develop effective teacher resources aligned with the vision of NEP 2020. The workshop was formally inaugurated with the lighting of ceremonial lamp, followed by a formal welcome address extended by Arti Gupta, Assistant Professor and Head, Department of Teacher Education, who highlighted the significance of quality teacher resources for middle-level science learning. The concept note was presented by Deepak Kumar, Academic Officer and Programme Coordinator, who elaborated on the objectives and framework of the workshop with special focus on learning outcomes and classroom transaction. The keynote address was delivered by Vinod Kumar Bhat, Associate Professor and Head Academic Unit-II, who emphasized the need for aligning curriculum goals with classroom realities. The inaugural session concluded with an insightful address by Worthy Joint Director, SCERT-J&K, Divisional office Jammu, who encouraged participants to adopt innovative, learner-centric approaches for strengthening science education at middle level. The academic sessions were systematically designed to address key areas such as NCF-FS 2022 and NCF-SE 2023 overview, Indian Knowledge Systems (IKS), Teacher Resources, Panchaadi, Integration of Science with other subjects, Aims, Curricular Areas and learning outcomes, and Career Guidance Tools (Like My Career Advisor). Eminent academic officers and faculty members including Arti Gupta, Manu Vasudeva, Amit Sharma, Yogesh Kumar, Sushil Hitaishi, Amit Bhagat and Deepak Kumar facilitated highly interactive sessions combining conceptual understanding with practical classroom strategies. The workshop witnessed the participation of 50 teachers and masters from across the Jammu Division, who actively engaged in all academic and practical sessions. The group presentations during the concluding phase showcased innovative and classroom-ready teacher resources, reflecting the successful achievement of workshop objectives. Amit Sharma and Amit Bhagat provided their valuable assistance as Associate Coordinators. The workshop was successfully executed with the support of the organising team, including Dr. Sandarve, Navneet Gupta, Ashok Sharma, Dr. Jyoti Sudan, Parshotam Singh, Rukhsana, Kamini Verma, Yugal Kishore, Meena Thakur and Dhanveer Singh while Kavya Sharma efficiently moderated the proceedings of the workshop. The workshop concluded with a valedictory ceremony wherein certificates of participation were distributed, marking the successful completion of the programme. The formal Vote of Thanks was proposed by Arti Gupta who expressed heartfelt gratitude to the dignitaries, resource persons, organising team, and participants for their valuable contributions and active engagement throughout the programme. |
