Early Times Report JAMMU, Feb 15: Marking the auspicious occasion of Mahashivratri with religious fervor and a spirit of community service, the Samvedna Society, under the leadership of its Chairman Keshav Chopra, organized its 12th Varshik Langar today at Talab Tillo, The event was formally inaugurated by the Jammu & Kashmir BJP President and Member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha), Sat Sharma (CA), who was accompanied by BJP JKUT General Secretary Baldev Singh Billawaria, along with several other prominent senior leaders and social activists. Speaking on the occasion, Sat Sharma (CA) extended his heartfelt greetings to the people of Jammu and Kashmir, emphasizing that Mahashivratri is not just a religious festival but a symbol of the victory of good over evil and a reminder to lead a life of righteousness. He lauded the consistent efforts of the Samvedna Society and Keshav Chopra for their dedication to social service, noting that such initiatives strengthen the fabric of brotherhood and provide a platform for the community to come together in a spirit of devotion. Baldev Singh Billawaria, while addressing the gathering, praised the Samvedna Society for maintaining this tradition for twelve consecutive years. He highlighted that these religious gatherings and community kitchens reflect the true essence of Indian culture, where service to humanity is considered the highest form of worship. He added that the presence of a large number of devotees today is a testament to the deep-rooted faith of the people and the successful organizational efforts of the society in promoting harmony and spiritual well-being. Keshav Chopra while speaking said that Samvedna society has been committed to organizing this Varshik Langar for over a decade to celebrate the divine grace of Lord Shiva with the common masses. Chopra prayed for the peace and progress of Jammu and Kashmir, reiterating the society's resolve to continue its mission of selfless service and social upliftment. The event concluded with the distribution of 'Prasad' among hundreds of devotees who gathered to celebrate the holy day.
