| Remembrance of God is path to inner peace, says Sadguru Sahib Ji | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Feb 15: Today, during a spiritual discourse in Ranjri, Jammu, Sadguru Sahib Ji, the master of devotion, showered the nectar of his teachings on the Name of God. He said that remembrance of the Name is essential. Remembrance will help one cross the ocean. No wise person would tear up a coin and throw it away, because they understand its value. Thus, one must understand the importance of remembrance. Japa, tapasya, sadhana, etc. all fall into remembrance. Sahib Ji said that there is nothing like remembrance. Someone asked me if God is such that if you chant the name of God, He becomes happy. I said that this is not the case. Remembrance is a dimension of concentration. Remembrance will help you achieve concentration. Remembrance is needed to control the mind. Your mind never remains calm for even a second. The body is designed in this way. If the mind becomes calm, what remains is the soul. Sahib Ji said that the mind is never at peace. A person is always thinking about something, thinking about the future or the past. Or planning something, or making a decision. Or taking action. All of this is the mind. Action is a form of the mind. A person cannot stop it. If you ask someone what they are doing, they say nothing, just sitting. No, even sitting is action. You are sitting with your body under control. If you stop all this, another action is taking place: you are breathing. Breathing is also an action. You can stop deciding for a while. You can stop remembering for a while, you can stop desiring for a while, but it is not easy to stop the action. It is not easy to stop the ego. The ego is called action. You cannot stop action. Being devoid of action is called nothingness. Even if you are lying down, you are breathing. That too is action. That is why it is very difficult. Breathing isn't happening on its own. You're inhaling. You're also exhaling. You constantly need oxygen. Therefore, this knot is very subtle. Stopping this process is the most difficult task. |
