Early Times Report
CHANDIGARH, Feb 15: The Institution's Innovation Council (IIC) of Mehr Chand Mahajan DAV College for Women organised a three-day workshop titled 'Innovative Ideas and Demonstration: A Hands-on Workshop'. The workshop witnessed enthusiastic participation from 51 students, offering them a valuable platform to explore innovation and practical applications of emerging technologies.
Day one commenced with an insightful session by Er. Harmesh Lal, who introduced participants to both theoretical and practical aspects of electrical devices integrated with the Internet of Things (IoT). The session laid a strong conceptual foundation while highlighting real-world applications of IoT-enabled systems. Day two featured live demonstrations of five working models, including an automatic street lighting system using a light sensor, an air quality monitoring device, an IoT-based light and temperature sensor, an IoT-based device control system, and a password-based authentication system. Participants received hands-on training, enabling them to actively engage in fabrication and coding processes, thereby strengthening their technical competencies. On the final day, an Innovative Idea Competition was held during which students showcased working projects and delivered presentations explaining their coding frameworks and fabrication processes. Prizes were awarded for Best Presenter and Best Project Demonstrator, recognising creativity, technical proficiency, and clarity of presentation. The workshop proved to be an inspiring and enriching experience, empowering students to embrace innovation and equipping them with the skills needed to contribute to technology-driven solutions in the future.
Officiating Principal Ms. Neena Sharma applauded the participants for their ingenuity and encouraged them to pursue innovation-driven learning. She felicitated the winners by presenting certificates and commended the IIC for organising such a meaningful initiative.
