| SSP Ramban holds crime review meeting, sets goals, targets for year 2026 | | | Early Times Report RAMBAN, Feb 15: A crime review meeting was convened by SSP Ramban to assess the progress of cases under investigation across the district. During the meeting, all pending cases were discussed threadbare, with specific emphasis on ensuring their timely disposal strictly on merits and within the prescribed timelines. Special focus was laid on cases registered under the NDPS Act and the UA(P) Act, with directions issued for expeditious investigation, effective supervision, and quality prosecution. SSP Ramban also stressed the need for taking robust preventive action against organised criminals especially drug traffickers, bovine smuggling syndicate, members of syndicate indulging in crime against property and criminals indulging in crimes against girl children and women. Special emphasis was laid to ensure road safety through enforcement and ensuring implementation of corrective measures through authorities of NHAI,PWD and PMGSY responsible for maintaining these roads.The deliberations also focussed on intelligence generation mechanism at each level of hierarchy and maintaining synergy with all stakeholders viz armed forces and intelligence agencies.The participants were exhorted to amplify activities for strengthening public trust.The ongoing efforts made to trace and identify illegal immigrants in the district was also highlighted. The meeting further reviewed the implementation and effective enforcement of the three newly enacted criminal laws, with instructions to ensure its understanding and compliance at all levels. The session was attended by AddlSP Ramban, DySP Headquarters Ramban, SDPO Banihal, SDPO Gool, DySP DAR Ramban, DySP SOG Ramban, the Prosecuting Officer, and all SHOs and Incharge Police Posts of District Ramban. |
