| GDC Ramgarh organizes awareness lecture, Rally to promote Mental Health | | | Early Times Report RAMGARH, Feb 21: The NSS Special Winter Camp at GDC Ramgarh successfully observed its fourth day with great enthusiasm and active participation. The camp is being organized by the NSS Unit 'Prabha' under the coordination of Professor Brahm Dutt, NSS Programme Officer. The first session featured an awareness lecture by Ashok Kumar, Head of the Department of Physical Education and Sports, who highlighted the importance of physical and mental health. He emphasized that regular participation in games and sports reduces stress, improves concentration, and strengthens overall personality. His inspiring talk motivated students to adopt a healthy and disciplined lifestyle. Following the lecture, a volleyball match was also organized to promote teamwork and sportsmanship, in which students participated enthusiastically. In the second session, a Poster Making Competition on the theme of mental health was conducted. Students creatively expressed their ideas through impactful posters and demonstrated excellent performance. Afterwards, the NSS volunteers carried these posters and organized an awareness rally in the adopted village of college, raising slogans like "Healthy Mind, Healthy Body" and "Do Yoga, Stay Healthy" to spread awareness about mental well-being. The rally aimed at sensitizing the local community about the importance of mental well-being and a healthy lifestyle. The volunteers also prepared planting beds for the next day's plantation drive by digging, leveling of the soil and watering the area. The successful conduct of the programme was made possible through the support of faculty members including Mr. Ashok Kumar, Dr. Shivali Panjgotra, Mr. Vikas Malmotra, and Mr. Ankur Bharti, along with the dedicated efforts of NSS volunteers. The day concluded with a strong message of teamwork, awareness, and social responsibility. |
