Udhampur, Feb 21: In a continued crackdown against drug trafficking, Udhampur Police arrested two drug peddlers in separate incidents.
Case–1:-
Police team of PP Sudhmahadev while performing patrolling at Pathyal Morh, Sudhmahadev, police team apprehended Imran Khan S/O Mohd Lateef R/O Kossar, Tehsil Chenani, District Udhampur after he tried to conceal himself on seeing the police party.
On search, 06.20 grams of heroin-like contraband was recovered from his possession.
FIR No. 31/2026 U/S 8/21/22 NDPS Act has been registered at PS Chenani and investigation is underway.
Case–2:-
During naka checking at Roun Domail, police intercepted an electric auto (JK14L-5263) coming from Manwal towards Udhampur. The driver Mohit Sharma S/O Sat Paul Sharma R/O Farna, Sial Jattan, Salmari, Tehsil & District Udhampur was found in possession of 05.45 grams of heroin (chitta).
Accordingly, FIR No. 52/2026 U/S 8/21/22 NDPS Act has been registered and further investigation is in progress. |
