International Mother Language Day celebrated at State Bank of India

CHANDIGARH, Feb 21: The State Bank of India, Chandigarh Division celebrated "International Mother Language Day" on February 21, 2026 at Local Head Office, Chandigarh. The programme was presided over by the Chief General Manager, Chandigarh Circle Shri Krishan Sharma. General Manager (Network-2), Shri Neeraj Bharti, General Manager (Network-3), Shri Vimal Kishore, Deputy General Manager & Circle Development Officer, Shri Kajal Kumar Bhowmik and other staff members were present in the programme.
The objective of the programme was to honour and encourage the use of various mother tongues. In the program, such authors from the staff members working in the Chandigarh Circle of the Bank were awarded and felicitated by the Chief General Manager, Shri Krishan Sharma, whose book has been published. A cultural programme was also organised in which the staff members gave presentations in different mother tongues.
On this occasion, the Chief General Manager, Shri Krishan Sharma highlighted the importance and impact of mother tongue. Addressing the staff, he said that in the mother tongue, we can speak our view point in a better way and it has a greater impact also. He said that by dealing with customers in mother tongue, our personal and business relationships are strengthened and customers feel connected with the bank.
In the end, the program concluded with a vote of thanks.
