Jammu, Feb 22: In a significant step towards awareness, empowerment, and collective responsibility, the students of PSPS, GCW Gandhinagar, actively participated in a one-day workshop on the theme “Causes and Remedies for Sexual Harassment of Female Students in Educational Institutions and Working Women at Workplaces” held at MAM College.
Accompanied by Prof. Priyanka Sharma and Prof. Anisa Karim, under the able guidance of Dr. Kulvinder Kour, Principal of the College and Coordinated efforts of Dr. Nidhi, Convener, CASH Committee, the students attended the workshop with enthusiasm and an eagerness to broaden their horizons. An eye-opener, the event shed light on the pressing issue of sexual harassment and emphasizing that silence is not golden when dignity is at stake.
The workshop delved deep into the root causes of harassment, its psychological and social repercussions. Experts and speakers addressed the crucial subject, encouraging participants to speak up, stand tall, and break the chains of stigma.
The interactive sessions reinforced the idea that awareness is the first step of prevention, and creating awareness is not merely ticking a box but building a culture of respect and equality where every individual can thrive without fear.
The workshop concluded on a hopeful note, reminding participants that change does not happen overnight, but every small step counts. By joining hands and raising voices, institutions can ensure that harassment is nipped in the bud and that campuses and workplaces remain spaces of dignity and opportunity.
