Early Times Report JAMMU, Feb 25: The Department of Horticulture Planning and Marketing(DHP&M) today organized the 3rd Multi-Stakeholder Platform (MSP) Meet of 2026 here at Kissan Ghar Narwal Jammu. The event was held under the aegis of Jammu & Kashmir Competitiveness Improvement Project (JKCIP), marking an important step towards strengthening collaboration among key stakeholders in the agriculture and horticulture sectors. Director Horticulture Planning & Marketing Ghulam Jeelani Zargar inaugurated the meet as the chief guest. The Director welcomed the audience and briefed them about the significance of Multi-Stakeholder Platform meets for overall development of Agri/Horticulture Sector. The event was also attended by the Dy. Commissioner Sales & Taxes, Director Horticulture, Jammu, Director Agriculture Jammu, Dy. Director Animal Husbandry, experts from SKUAST Jammu, Central University, along with officers from the financial institutions. Their presence added immense value to the deliberations and highlighted the importance of inter-institutional coordination. In his inaugural address, Mr. Zargar laid emphasis on the uplift of the farming community through flagship initiatives such as the Holistic Agriculture Development Programme (HADP) and JKCIP. He urged the participants to actively project their concerns, challenges and suggestions on such platforms to enable effective, inclusive and farmer-centric policy formulation. He reiterated the government's commitment to strengthening agricultural value chains, improving market access and enhancing farmers' incomes. |
