SPMR College of Commerce organises Poster, Rangoli Making Competition

JAMMU, Feb 25: The Red Ribbon Club and Road Safety Club of Govt. SPMR College of Commerce organised a Poster Making and Rangoli Making Competition on the college campus with the objective of spreading social awareness and promoting creativity among students.
Students from the disciplines of Commerce, BBA, and BCA enthusiastically participated in the competition and showcased their artistic talent through innovative posters and vibrant rangoli designs based on socially relevant themes. The event aimed to sensitize students and encourage creative expression while promoting awareness and social responsibility.
Dr. Reena Rani, HoD Economics and Dr. Chetna Gupta HoD English, served as judges for the competition. They appreciated the originality, creativity, and thematic relevance reflected in the entries and commended the students for their sincere efforts.
The worthy Principal of the college, Prof. (Dr.) Sunil Gupta, in his address, appreciated the initiative taken by the Red Ribbon Club and Road Safety Club and said, "Such activities play a vital role in nurturing creativity and awareness among students. Platforms like these not only enhance artistic skills but also help in building socially responsible citizens." He congratulated the winners and encouraged greater student participation in co-curricular activities.
In the Poster Making Competition organised by Red Ribbon Club, Palak Sandhu of B.com 2nd sem secured the first position, second position was shared by Ashu of B.com 2nd Sem and Vaishali Devi of B.com 6th sem. Samridhi of BBA 4th sem and Tanishka Mehra of B.com 6th sem stood third. In the Rangoli Making Competition, Vishali Devi of B.com 6th sem, Bhavdeep Kour of B.com 4th sem and Anshu Kapoor of B.com 4th sem stood first, second and third positions respectively.
Under the umbrella of Road Safety Club, poster making competition was also organised wherein more than 38 students participated among whom Ms. Palak Sandhu of B.com 2nd sem backed the first prize followed by Kashish Gupta of M.com 2nd sem who secured second position and Mahak Choudhary of B.com 4th sem gained third position.
Certificates and prizes were distributed among the winners during the prize distribution ceremony. The proceedings of the event were conducted by Dr. Fayza and formal vote of thanks were presented by Dr. Jagmeet Kaur. The event concluded successfully with appreciation for the organizing committee members Dr. Jagmeet Kaur, Convener Red Ribbon Club, Dr. Vipul Chalotra, Convener Road Safety Club, Dr. Fayza, Dr. Madhu Bala, Prof Binny Kumar, Dr. Roomi Rani and Prof. Khalid Hussain whose dedicated efforts ensured the smooth conduct of the programme. The other faculty members present were Dr. Mohd Azam, Dr. Ashraf Nawaz, Prof. Sanjeev Verma, Dr. Rajni, Prof. Esha Abrol, Dr. Ridhi Sharma and Prof. Anju Gotra.
