Udhampur police attaches moveable property of habitual bovine smuggler

UDHAMPUR, Feb 26: Udhampur Police has attached a vehicle worth ?40 lakhs belonging to a habitual bovine smuggler U/S 107(5) BNSS in compliance with the orders passed by the Hon'ble Court of District Mobile Magistrate Udhampur.
The attached property is a Tata Motors Truck LPT 2518 TC bearing Registration No. JK01AC-0948 and Chassis No. MAT44803765005684 owned by Rayees Ahmad Hajam S/o Mohd Akram Hajam R/o Uranhall, District Anantnag. The vehicle was found involved in FIR No. 152/2025 U/S 223 BNS, 318(4) BNS & 11 PCA Act registered at Police Station Rehambal.
During the course of investigation, a detailed inquiry was conducted by the Investigating Officer of Police Station Rehambal from multiple aspects, including criminal antecedents and financial investigation. The inquiry revealed that the offending vehicle had been used in unlawful activities related to bovine smuggling.
Accordingly, the said vehicle has been lawfully seized and provisionally attached under Section 107(5) BNSS.
This is the 2nd vehicle attached by Udhampur Police in such cases this year, with the total worth reaching Rs 50 Lacs.
