Early Times Report SAMBA, Feb 26: Pt. Prem Nath Dogra Govt. Degree College Samba, NSS UNIT Maitri, successfully organized the Viksit Bharat Youth Parliament 2026, an initiative of the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports. This platform allowed young minds to engage with crucial national discussions and shape the vision of Viksit Bharat@2047. Around 50 participants from diverse streams (Science, Arts and Commerce) deliberated on the Union Budget 2026, analyzing its provisions across various sectors of the Indian economy. Insightful discussions and thoughtful presentations marked the event. The entire programme was conducted under the patronage of Prof. (Dr.) Nirlape Kour, Principal GDC Samba. She highlighted the significance of national emergency provisions and affirmed the crucial role of youth in strengthening India's parliamentary democracy. The jury panel comprised Prof. Dr. Papinder Bhagat, HOD Economics, Prof. Rajni Bala (Assistant Professor, Commerce), and Prof. Ritika (Assistant Professor, Political Science), guiding discussions and providing expert insights. This event fostered critical thinking, leadership, and civic awareness among participants. These four participants were adjudged winners Danish Bhagat, Bansh Sharma, Suvidha Sambyal and Shreya Sambyal. The youth parliament witnesses the presence of NSS convener Dr. Mala Bhasin, NSS Advisory Committee and NSS volunteers and students of GDC Samba. The proceedings of youth parliament were conducted by Prof. Babita Kumari, NSS PO, and Assistant professor in Department of Zoology. The programme ended with a vote of thanks presented by Dr. Rahul Verma, Faculty of political sciences. |
