Fresher's-cum-Investiture Ceremony celebrated at Dogra College of Education

JAMMU, Feb 26: The Social Cultural Committee of Dogra College of Education organized a Fresher's-cum-Investiture Ceremony for the students of B.Ed. Semester 1st (Session 2025-27) on 25th February 2026 at 11:00 a.m. in the Auditorium of Dogra Educational Complex. The programme marked a warm welcome to the new batch and celebrated the spirit of responsibility, commitment, and new beginnings.
The event was graced by the Chief Guest, Mrs. Surekha Charak, Chairperson, Dogra Educational Trust. The programme began with the presentation of saplings to the dignitaries, symbolizing growth and sustainability, followed by the ceremonial lamp lighting. Dr. Vikesh Kumar Sharma, Principal, Dogra College of Education, delivered the welcome address.
The cultural segment featured a solo song by Manas Mishra and a poetry recitation by Ritesh (Semester IV). The Investiture Ceremony was the highlight, with badge distribution to CRs, Student Council members, and committee conveners, followed by the oath-taking ceremony. An experience-sharing session was conducted by Jatin (President) and Shivani Bhagat (Secretary, 2024-25). The event concluded with dance performances and the much-awaited announcement of Miss Fresher 2026-27, creating great enthusiasm among the audience.
Addressing the gathering, Dr. Samar Dev Singh Charak, Secretary, Dogra Educational Trust congratulated the newly admitted students and motivated them to pursue excellence with dedication, discipline, and professional integrity in the noble field of education. He emphasized the importance of leadership qualities and encouraged the students to uphold the values and legacy of the institution.
Prominent among those present were Dr. Bela Thakur, Director, Dogra Group of Colleges and Principal, Dogra Degree College, and Dr. Dharamveer Sharma, Dean, Dogra Group of Colleges, along with faculty members and students of the college.
The ceremony concluded with a formal vote of thanks by Dr. Shefali Sharma, IQAC Coordinator, followed by the National Anthem and a group photograph. The Fresher's-cum-Investiture Ceremony marked a meaningful beginning for the B.Ed. Semester I (2025-27) batch, reflecting the institution's commitment to nurturing responsible and visionary educators.
