JAMMU, Mar 3: In a decisive action to safeguard public peace, District Police Jammu detained three habitual offenders under Sections 126/170/129 BNSS within the jurisdiction of Police Station Bus Stand Jammu.
On 02-03-2026, a police team led by Inspector Inderpal Singh apprehended Afnan S/O Sheikh Rome Jan R/O Donikhu D Buchwara Dalgate Srinagar, Saniya Shabier W/O Afnan D/O Shabir Ahmed Bhat R/O Donikhu D Buchwara Dalgate Srinagar, and Sanjay Kumar S/O Raj R/O Thalora Tehsil Majalta Udhampur for indulging in activities prejudicial to public peace and tranquility.
Upon questioning, the accused created a disturbance, attracted a gathering, and attempted to instigate others, thereby causing panic and apprehension of breach of peace in the area.
Considering the likelihood of further disturbance and to prevent cognizable offences, the accused were arrested under preventive provisions and produced before the Hon'ble Executive Magistrate 1st Class, Jammu.
The Court after examining the facts issued detention orders and all three have been lodged in District Jail Kot Bhalwal under judicial custody. |
