Early Times Report JAMMU, Mar 26: Under the able guidance of Vice-Chancellor, Prof. B. N. Tripathi, the Faculty of Basic Sciences, Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology of Jammu (SKUAST-Jammu) organized an expert lecture on "Inspiring and Effective Teaching." The lecture was delivered by Dr. Pamela Sammons, Professor (Emeritus), Department of Education, University of Oxford, U.K., an internationally acclaimed expert in the field of education and school effectiveness. In her insightful talk, Dr. Sammons highlighted the key attributes of inspiring teachers and emphasized the importance of evidence-based teaching practices, student engagement, and reflective pedagogy. She elaborated on how effective teaching goes beyond content delivery and involves fostering critical thinking, motivation, and a supportive learning environment. Dr. Sammons also shared global perspectives on improving teaching quality and learning outcomes, drawing from her extensive research and experience. She stressed the need for continuous professional development of teachers and the adoption of innovative teaching strategies to meet the evolving demands of education in the 21st century. The lecture was hosted by Prof. Sanjay Guleria, Dean, Faculty of Basic Sciences, and coordinated by Dr. Vinod Kumar, Associate Professor (Biochemistry).
