JAMMU, Mar 26: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Thursday invited suggestions from the people for the establishment of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board’s (SMVDSB) first-of-its-kind International Goddess Museum, at Katra.
The Goddess Museum is envisioned as a unique global spiritual landmark. Members of the public are encouraged to visit the official portal www.smvdsbimog.org to share their suggestions and thoughts.
Designed as an immersive destination, the museum will feature state-of-art digital installations, interactive galleries, thematic exhibitions, light and sound presentations.
The Lieutenant Governor said that the initiative is expected to boost religious tourism and contribute to local economic development in the region.
“Special emphasis will be laid on promoting traditional handicrafts, including sculpture-making and artistic replicas inspired by Shrine and broader Shakti tradition. Dedicated spaces will showcase artisans’ craftsmanship, facilitate live demonstrations and promote indigenous art forms.
By integrating scholarly research with innovative storytelling, the museum will cater to both devotees and knowledge seekers alike. It reflects the Shrine Board’s commitment to preserving heritage and presenting India’s timeless traditions in a contemporary and globally relevant manner,” the Lieutenant Governor said.
