Early Times Report KISHTWAR, Mar 26: Senior Congress Leader and Former Minister, Ghulam Mohammad Saroori, today visited several areas of Chatroo Block and held detailed interactions with local residents to assess their concerns and ongoing issues. During the visit, people voiced serious grievances regarding the steep increase in electricity bills, unscheduled power cuts, difficulties in updation of ration cards from APL to BPL, rising unemployment, issues related to MGNREGA, and other basic civic challenges. Residents expressed dissatisfaction over the lack of tangible improvement on the ground. Addressing the gathering, Saroori expressed concern that despite nearly two years of the present dispensation, there has been no visible progress, and people continue to face hardships due to administrative inefficiencies. He urged the public to come forward and support the Indian National Congress, emphasizing that it remains the only party committed to inclusive development, public welfare, and safeguarding democratic values. Saroori further highlighted that during his tenure, significant developmental works were undertaken in Chatroo, leading to visible improvements in infrastructure and public services. He assured that with renewed public support, such developmental momentum can be restored and further accelerated in the interest of the people. Saroori was accompanied by several Congress leaders, including Ghulam Qadir Sheikh, Mohd Iqbal Keen, Irshad Ahmed, Ayaz Ahmed Malik, Akhtar Hussain Butt, Ch.
