Early Times Report JAMMU, Apr 11: Dogra Law College (Autonomous), under the aegis of Dogra Educational Trust, successfully concluded its two-day Inter-Semester Moot Court Competition, reaffirming its commitment to experiential and practice-oriented legal education. The event, held at the Moot Court Hall of the Dogra Educational Complex, brought together budding legal minds in a rigorous simulation of courtroom proceedings. The competition centered on a contemporary and intellectually demanding moot proposition, Sagar Munda & Others, encouraging participants to engage deeply with complex legal questions. Ten teams competed with remarkable zeal, demonstrating strong analytical ability, meticulous research, and persuasive advocacy skills. The proceedings reflected a high standard of preparation and professionalism, indicative of the institution's focus on nurturing competent legal practitioners. Dr. Samar Dev Singh Charak, Secretary of the Dogra Educational Trust, highlighted the pivotal role of moot court exercises as an integral component of legal education. He noted that such experiential platforms effectively bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application, while developing critical thinking, articulation, and a strong sense of professional ethics among students. The pre-final and final round was adjudicated by a distinguished panel comprising Retd. District and Sessions Judge Sh. Subhash Gupta, Retd. District and Sessions Judge Sh. Kikar Singh Parihar, and Adv. Gambhir Dev Singh Charak. The panel commended the participants for their depth of legal reasoning and courtroom etiquette, while also sharing valuable experiential insights to guide their professional journeys. Team A, represented by Manik Sharma, Saloni Sharma, and Sunakshi Devi, secured the Winner's Trophy with an exceptional performance. Harshvir Singh (Team I) was awarded Best Researcher for his outstanding legal research, while Team C-comprising Natasha Sharma, Aditi Bandral, and Babneet Kaur-earned the Best Memorial Award. The Best Speaker accolade was conferred upon Saloni Sharma for her articulate and compelling advocacy. The valedictory ceremony witnessed the presence of dignitaries from Dogra Degree College and Dogra Law College, alongside senior functionaries of the Trust.
